At Lands’ End, we strive to be a “roll up your sleeves and do it” kind of company. So, when we recently funded the planting of nearly 400,000 trees in two national forests, just writing a check to the National Forest Foundation wasn’t good enough. We also had three Lands’ End employees (who are members of our Go Green Team) journey from Dodgeville up to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in the northern-most part of Wisconsin to be a part of the planting.
Okay. Truth be told, the experts from the US Forest Service did the majority of the work…but we were there to help where we could and to witness how our donation was making a difference.
The trees planted will not only regenerate the forest – they will be a haven for migratory birds traveling through Northern Wisconsin. Sure, these birds won’t buy polos and chinos, but we recognize that doing the right thing from a sustainability standpoint is good for everyone. . .including Lands’ End.
In the end, we hope when customers see the NFF logo on the box their order arrives in, or on the back of our catalogs, they know that Lands’ End is “walking the walk” when it comes to charting a course towards sustainability.
